Mondays can be a difficult part of the week. Last year, we had Music Monday to get you started with an inspirational song or two. This year, we are going to start it off with what I call "Monday Fun Day". I will post up an interesting poem, comic, joke, etc. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to email me. This week's Fun Day is from Ducksters, who puts together kids' jokes. In honor of the high temperatures, here is a weather one to think about: HW:

During morning prayer, the flag was flown at half mast in respectful silence. In class, students shared what they knew about the day's events, watched a BrainPop video about 9-11, and talked about the Survivor Tree. For those that aren't familiar about the tree, it was the only one that remained after the debris. It is a symbol of our hope and endurance as a people. Check out the sites below as well as the video: http://www.911memorial.org/survivor-tree http://www.brainpop.com/socialstudies/ushistory/september11th/ HW:

Francis' homily on the Gospel was inspiring. He mentioned how you don't put new wine in old wineskins or sew new fabric on old clothing - it will tear. Since it's the beginning of a new school year, Jesus wants to give us new experiences and challenges. What happened last year is in the past & the present brings it's own growth. It can be difficult, but you can turn to Jesus. He will be with you every step of the way.
