Today is the start of STAR Testing. Junior high completed the Reading portion. Tomorrow will be the last part, which is the Math section. Upon hearing feedback from plenty of the students, they liked that the testing frame was shorter, that there were less assessments and that it was online.
Welcome 5th grade! I met with the class for the 1st time today. I'm looking forward to this upcoming school year with them. Trimester I's focus is mainly on narrative reading and writing. Today, 6th-8th grade wrote in-class narratives. They used the prewrites they worked on yesterday to flush out ideas. Assessments help me see where the students are and the areas they need to grow.

Today was the first day that 6th-8th grade switched classes between Religion, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. 6th & 7th grade went over the Language Arts Syllabus, while 8th grade focused on prewriting & goals.
